To the woman he said, “. . . Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.”
(Genesis 3:16 NIV)
The Lord stated that “your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.” Let us take a moment to really examine the significance of this warning.
The wife will yearn for her husband and the husband will rule over her. Women are instructed to love and nurture their husband and to follow his lead as he follows Christ.
A Proverbs 31: Virtuous Woman is a wife who operates in a manner that gives her respect, therefore, her husband receives even more respect at the city gates. He is a man who is among the elders of the land. In order to sit with the elders, you must be considered as wise and worthy of the honor.
The Virtuous Woman did not make her man worthy; she added to her man’s worth.
Her heart’s desire is to help and honor her husband, children, and servants, yet she would not be able to work the fields, sell the sashes, or be profitable with her trading if her husband was a scoundrel. She would be too exhausted, beat up, and bitter from the tasks of loving, serving, and nurturing everyone else and herself.
Your Husband Rules Over You, Leads You, Guides You, Directs You down the path that either God sees fit for his family or the path that your husband sees fit for his family.
Either you will marry a man who will invest, love, nurture, serve, and guard your heart or you will marry a man who will drag, take, deplete, and bankrupt your heart.
Who do I want?
Are you looking for your Boaz or your Saul?
Boaz is a man who redeemed (restored/healed) Ruth’s and Naomi’s family honor whereas Saul single-handedly destroyed his family’s honor. The choice is yours and only yours.
There are times in all of our lives when we need to stop and examine our heart’s desires and yearnings. The mind and body receive what the heart seeks. If you are looking desperately for love, then the mind and body will attract and cling to the exterior people, notions, and habits that increase the feeling of love.
The problem with such a love is that it is not pure, and it is not satisfying. So, you tend to find yourself working hard to gain the love you have not found.
Men who are attracted to women in such a state tend to give little, take a lot, and damage the women.
You are not a trophy, or a doormat, and you should never accept treatment that is less than your worth.
As a Proverbs 31: Virtuous Woman, you are worth far more than rubies.
Due to your value, it is very important that you learn to satisfy your heart’s desire through your relationship with the Lord.
Seeking a relationship with the Lord allows your heart, mind, and body to search for and receive your interior self, notions, and habits that increase the feeling of love.
The advantage with such a love is that it is pure and satisfying. The Lord will heal you, nurture you, and provide for you.
The closer you are to His divine power, grace, mercy, and love the more you will grow into the Woman Who is After God's Own Heart. As a woman after His heart, you will become the bride of the Lord that will uncover the greatness within you and Him as One.
The Lord will become your Heavenly Husband.
"He will love you and bless you and multiply you; He will also bless the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground, your grain and your new wine and your oil, the increase of your herd and the young of your flock, in the land which He swore to your forefathers to give you (Deuteronomy 7:13 NAS).
The more intimate your relationship is with your Heavenly Husband the more you will see the uniqueness He sees in you. God is a great God who loves to spoil His bride. When you begin to depend on Him for the love and support you long for, the more you will recognize the ways in which He treats you like a queen.
And trust, once you have experienced the life of a queen from the One Who Owns It All, you will never allow yourself to take two glances at a scoundrel because you will be too busy with your Heavenly Boaz.
Keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life (Jude 1:21 NAS).
The time will come when you will know and feel in your heart that you are ready for your earthly Boaz. At that time, the Holy Spirit will guide you to your encounter with the man who will honor you and cherish you in a manner that will encourage the Virtuous Woman You Are, while you naturally increase his honor.
Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task. Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of full respect. (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?) (1 Timothy 3:2 NAS)
Such an honorable man deserves a Godly woman.
House and wealth are inherited from parents, but a prudent wife is from the Lord
